New Delhi, June 12 (H.S.): On International Yoga Day (June 21), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a major yoga event in Visakhapatnam, performing 19 yoga asanas over 45 minutes, with the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Union AYUSH Minister Prataprav Jadhav announced that 40 diplomats and yoga teachers from 20 countries, as well as students from another 20 countries residing in India, will participate in this event. This year’s theme, Yoga for One Earth, One Health, was introduced by Modi during his radio program 'Mann Ki Baat,' emphasizing yoga’s role in personal balance and global harmony.

In Delhi, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga will oversee sessions at 111 key locations, including historical sites and parks, organized by various local authorities. The Delhi government has arranged 10 major yoga events citywide, along with numerous smaller programs coordinated by different ministries and organizations. More than 1,300 yoga assemblies have been registered in the capital.

Union Minister Jadhav highlighted preparations to ensure the day is memorable and aims to integrate yoga into everyday life for all. The Prime Minister's initial initiative has made June 21 internationally recognized as Yoga Day, marking a decade of global appreciation for yoga. With the 11th Yoga Day being celebrated on a large scale, efforts are in place to involve communities from villages to urban centers, supported by state governments, to promote yoga widely.
