Bhubaneswar, 12 June (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that the state government will bear the educational expenses of the children of Santosh Parida, who succumbed to injuries sustained during a recent communal clash in Bhadrak’s Tihidi police limits.
The Chief Minister’s announcement follows the unfortunate incident in which violence broke out between two communities, leading to Parida’s hospitalization and subsequent death.
In addition to covering educational costs, the government had earlier declared ex-gratia assistance of ₹10 lakh to Parida’s immediate family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), along with the promise of a government job for one eligible family member.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and taking strict action against those responsible for the violence.
