Jorhat (Assam), 12 June (HS): Thursday is the birth anniversary of great sant Sri Sri Madhavdev, a prominent disciple of great sant Srimanta Shankardev and a propagator of neo-Vaishnav religion. On this occasion, Nam-Prasang has started in various areas of the state since morning. Along with other places in the state, Gurujan's birth anniversary is being celebrated with joy and enthusiasm at the historic Dhekiakhowa Barnamghar, a major Peeth of East Jorhat established by great man Madhavdev.

After organizing various programs like Usha Kirtan, Akshay Deepak Tel Arpan, Nam Prasang, Diha Naam etc. in the morning, Bhagwat Bhramana and cultural Shobha Yatra were taken out with the cooperation of the public. In the said program, many Bhakt Vaishnavas of the entire Upper Assam along with the people of Dhekiakhowa area are participating. The entire atmosphere has become vocal with the sound of Harinam. The organizers have told that after the procession, the main naam and then a religious discussion meeting, honouring of talented students and discussion about the immortal works of great men and expression of emotions will be held till late night. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of great man Madhavdev, people are immersed in a religious atmosphere in Dhekiakhova.
