Lucknow, 13 June (HS): Uttar
Pradesh, which is now experiencing terrible heat wave conditions, may see some
relief during the next two days. According to IMD authorities here on Friday,
pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin in the eastern areas of the state
within the next two days. However, Western UP and Bundelkhand will continue to
experience scorching conditions for next 4-5 days. In Uttar Pradesh, the
outbreak of intense heat from east to west persists. People have been suffering
due to the blazing weather over the last several days. The roads have turned
into furnaces, and the situation in Bundelkhand and several areas of western
Uttar Pradesh is critical.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no reprieve from the
blazing heat in these locations until June 15. According to IMD authorities here
on Friday, pre-monsoon rains are forecast in the state's eastern region
beginning Sunday. Rains have begun in both the eastern and western divisions as
of June 16. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat warning for 19
districts in western Uttar Pradesh, including Bundelkhand and Meerut,
Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Jhansi, Jalaun, Aligarh,
and Mathura.
According to the dept, nighttime temperatures in these places will be higher
than usual. However, around this time, several districts in Eastern Uttar
Pradesh, including Ballia, Mau, Azamgarh, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar,
Basti, Kushinagar, and Maharajganj, may see light rain with thunderstorms. On
Friday, temperatures was seen hovering above 40 degrees in Jhansi, Banda, Agra,
Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Lucknow.
