Jhansi, 12 June (HS): Three people

including a mother and daughter died in a horrific road accident on Thursday

morning at around 4 am in Poonch police station area on Jhansi-Kanpur national

highway. The car occupants were returning to Maharashtra after attending a

wedding ceremony in Siddharthnagar town. Police reached the spot on receiving

the information and admitted the injured to Jhansi Medical College. The condition

of two of them remains critical.

Uvaidur Rahman (45), a resident of

Itri Bazar in Siddharthnagar, lives with his family in Maharashtra. He was

returning to Maharashtra by car with his father, wife and four children after

attending a wedding ceremony in Siddharthnagar. As soon as his car reached

Khilli in Poonch police station area on Jhansi Kanpur Highway at around 4 am on

Thursday, it suddenly collided with a divider. The accident was so severe that

Uvaidur Rahman's wife Asma Khan (40), his daughter Usna Parveen (15) and driver

Amir (45) died on the spot. Apart from this, Uvaidur Rahman's father

Shahabuddin (70), son Abdullah Bahadur (10), Anidur Rahman (8) and Ism (6) year

old daughter were seriously injured in this accident.

Poonch police station in-charge JP

Pal said that when he reached the spot, somehow the people trapped in the car

were taken out one by one. The injured were immediately admitted to Jhansi

Medical College with the help of an ambulance. In this accident, the mother and

daughter along with the car driver died on the spot. The accident was so severe

that the driver was taken out of the car with the help of a JCB. The bodies

have been sent for post-mortem, while the injured are being treated.

Chief Minister expressed

condolences: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the road

accident in Jhansi. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the

deceased. He also directed the district administration officials to immediately

take the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment. He also

wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
