Bhopal, June 12 (H.S.) : COVID cases in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, are on the rise, with 12 new cases reported on Wednesday night alongside the death of a 52-year-old woman suffering from bronchial asthma, tuberculosis, and diabetes, marking the state's third COVID-related death this year. The patient had been hospitalized on June 8 due to severe respiratory issues, with COVID confirmed two days later; she later passed away in the MRTB government hospital. Earlier, a 44-year-old woman from Khargone died after being admitted following childbirth, and a 74-year-old woman with kidney disease from Indore died in late April.

Dr. B.S. Saitya, Indore’s Chief Medical and Health Officer, noted that the recent report identified 12 new positive cases, raising the total to 81 confirmed COVID patients in the city, with 69 residing there and 12 from outside. Currently, 51 active cases are being monitored, primarily in home isolation and stable condition. Additionally, Madhya Pradesh recorded 21 new cases on Wednesday, the highest single-day total this year, increasing the total number of infections in the state to 123, with 86 active cases and 34 recoveries.
