Lucknow, 12 June (HS): Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath advised students on Thursday to take
responsibility for maintaining public property, stating that such assets are
the outcome of common labour and that destroying them harms the nation.
Addressing a state-level ceremony to recognize outstanding students and deliver
school sports awards, he stated, Public property is not private property;
it is built through the contributions of the entire society. If somebody harms
it, they are injuring the nation. Such actions must be stopped, reported, and
revealed. Adityanath urged students to take action by filming and reporting
anyone who damages public property.
You all have mobile phones. If you observe someone trashing government
property, record it and make it viral. We will guarantee that the individual is
recognized and recovered via posters, he added. He congratulated the Uttar Pradesh
Secondary Education Board on successfully delivering cheating-free examinations
and highlighted significant advancements to the state's education system since
2017. Previously, widespread cheating has become a lucrative business under the
guise of education. People would fill out exam forms and hire someone else to
take them. The results would be sent
home with certificates. He described it
as a total hoax. Taking on past governments in the state, Adityanath praised
his government for putting an end to such illicit operations and establishing a
transparent, fair examination system. He noted that examinations that used to
take two to three months now take only 13 days.
Examinations should not be used to
torment kids, but rather to assess and equip them to confront life's problems
with a competitive spirit, he added, urging them to read Prime Minister Narendra
Modi's book Exam Warriors. He also praised the state's progress in government
employment, adding that more than eight lakh youngsters had been hired through
transparent recruitment. We are no longer a 'BIMARU' state. He remarked that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as
the new face of India. The CM advocated for value-based education. Along with knowledge, kids must develop
respect for their elders, parents, instructors, society, and the nation. That is actual character, he explained.
