The body of Devjyoti Singh (27), a resident of Nigha area of Jamuria, was found with his throat slit on the Sitarampur-Ethora Road under Kulti police station in Durgapur, Asansol on the night of June 4. The police have arrested the deceased's colleague Pammi Sharma (23) in connection with the case.

Notably, Devjyoti's family lodged a complaint against his colleague Pammi Sharma (23) at the Niyamatpur police station. Pammi is a resident of Parbelia in Purulia district.

The family of the deceased claimed that Pammi is behind Devjyoti's death. After the complaint was lodged, the police of Niyamatpur outpost under Kulti police station initiated an investigation investigation and on Wednesday evening summoned the accused Pammi Sharma to the Niyamatpur outpost. After a long interrogation, the police arrested Pammi Sharma after finding contradictions in her statements. Pammi Sharma was presented in Asansol District Court at 11 am on Thursday. The police has sought 10 days remand for investigation.
