New Delhi, 12 June (H.S.): At least 133 people died in an Air India flight crash near Ahmedabad airport while taking off for London at 1:17 PM. The flight had 232 passengers, including 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese, and one Canadian.

Smoke was visible from Dharpur in the Meghaninagar area. Emergency response teams and fire brigades were deployed to the scene. Authorities are still determining the cause of the crash. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu to provide assistance to those affected and to travel to Ahmedabad.
