Ahmedabad, June 12(HS): An Air India plane with over 200 passengers crashed near Ahmedabad Airport while en route to London's Gatwick. The airline confirmed the incident and is in the process of gathering more details.

Police indicated the crash occurred in a civilian area, but no fatalities have been reported yet. Flight tracking data revealed the last signal was received moments after takeoff. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with registration VT-ANB, was seen in flames with thick black smoke billowing as rescue operations commenced, with victims being transported on stretchers to ambulances. A total of 242 people were on board.
