Jalaun, 10 June (HS): In a tragic
incident on Tuesday in village Pandaura of Kadaura police station area,
30-year-old Durgesh Dwivedi, son of Kripashankar, was seriously injured. The
incident happened when Durgesh was cleaning his licensed pistol and resting it
on a nearby bench. Meanwhile, his four-year-old son Eklavya reached near the
Mauser while playing and unknowingly opened the lock of the weapon and pressed
the trigger. The bullet suddenly fired hit Durgesh's stomach, leaving him
bleeding.
There was a commotion in the house
after the incident. The family immediately took Durgesh to CHC, from where he
was sent to the district hospital in critical condition. When the doctors
declared his condition to be serious, he was referred to Regency Hospital in
Kanpur, where treatment is going on. Police station in-charge Prabhat Singh
said that Durgesh, a resident of Pandaura, had kept his licensed pistol on a
bed after cleaning it and was lying there. Meanwhile, his son started playing
with the pistol and the trigger got pressed and the bullet went off, which hit
Durgesh directly in the stomach. The injured Durgesh has two small children - Son
Eklavya (4 years) and daughter Nitya (6 years). His wife Yamini is inconsolable
due to this incident.
