Durgapur, 10 June (H.S.): Opposing gambling and alcohol in Mahanandpalli area of Durgapur proved costly for a person. Allegedly, on Monday late night the miscreants set the complainant's car on fire. The victim Subir Sarkar alleged that there used to be alcohol and gambling parties every day near his house. He had opposed this and had also lodged a written complaint at the police station.

The police from Coke Oven police station were investigating the complaint. Meanwhile, the miscreants kept threatening the person in front of the police. Police had seized the miscreants' bike from the spot.

Subir Sarkar parks his car in front of his house every day. Allegedly on Monday night, his four-wheeler was set on fire. As soon as the fire incident came to light, panic spread in the area. Later somehow the fire was controlled. A complaint has been lodged at the police station. The police said on Tuesday that two miscreants have been arreste. Another accused is being searched for.
