Hooghly, 10 June (H.S.): A team of customs officials raided the house of well-known Trinamool leader Subir Mukherjee in Chanditala Gorlagachha area of Hooghly district on Tuesday morning. Subir Mukherjee is the education, information, culture and sports working president of Hooghly Zilla Parishad.

As per information, the team of the customs department reached the residence of the Trinamool leader on Tuesday morning and conducted a thorough search of his house for about three hours. Moreover, the Trinamool leader's daughter's flat in Dankuni was searched.

Subir Mukherjee said that he will react on this matter after getting permission from the party.

Trinamool leader Subir Mukherjee is known for writing poetry and many of his books have been published. Subir Babu said that the officers who came to search his house have taken away two of his books.

Subir Mukherjee said, The customs officials told him that this had never happened before, they had gone to conduct a search but nothing was recovered from here. We cooperated in every way during the search. All our phones were taken during the search. They searched everywhere in the house but found nothing. They took two books written by me to read.
