Dhubri (Assam), 10 June (HS): A person has been arrested for throwing banned beef at the gate of Dhubri Hanuman temple. The situation in Dhubri remains tense, meanwhile Ramzan Ali was arrested from Balurchar in police action. In connection with this incident, Ramzan Ali has been arrested under Section 298, 299 of IPC, Section 61(2)(A) of BNS and Section 13(1) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
On the other hand, the atmosphere in Dhubri district remained tense on Tuesday as well. On Monday itself, the Dhubri district administration had issued an order to keep the lights of all the shops in Dhubri town off. Along with this, an order was issued to keep all the educational institutions and other institutions of the city closed. Under Section 163(1) of BNS, a gathering of five or more people at one place has been banned. The police administration is keeping a strict vigil in the entire city. Dhubri District Magistrate Diwakar Nath and Superintendent of Police Naveen Singh are keeping an eye on this entire matter.
The District Magistrate of Dhubri has deployed adequate number of police and paramilitary forces to keep the situation in the city under control. He said that more security forces will be deployed if required. The District Magistrate has also appealed to all the parties not to get emotional and maintain restraint.
