Bhubaneswar, 20 February (H.S.): The state government has decided to renovate 812 multi-purpose flood and cyclone shelters during the current year. An amount of ₹6 lakh will be spent on the renovation of each shelter, amounting to a total expenditure of ₹48.72 crore. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari provided this information in the state assembly today.
Minister Pujari stated that work on several cyclone shelters has already begun. Currently, the state has 109 flood and cyclone shelters, of which 600 are multi-purpose cyclone shelters and 309 are multi-purpose flood shelters.
