The Trinamool Congress announced the new district committee for the Hooghly-Serampore organizational district on Monday afternoon. The official list, signed by the party's Hooghly-Serampore organizational district president, Arindam Guin, and released to media on Tuesday, includes the names of office bearers and members from the district level down to the block, town, and ward levels.
The announced committee includes over 100 leaders in positions such as Chairman, President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Secretary, Member, and Special Invitee. This new organizational structure is considered a crucial step towards preparing for upcoming elections and strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
According to the announced list, Asima Patra has been appointed District Chairperson, while Arindam Guin has been re-appointed as the Hooghly-Serampore organizational district president. Several senior leaders, including Chuchura MLA Asit Majumdar, Chanditala MLA Swati Khandekar, Kanchan Malik, Gaur Mohan Dey, Amio Mukherjee, and Suresh Mishra, have been appointed as District Vice-Presidents.
A large number of General Secretaries and Secretaries have been appointed to strengthen the district organization. The General Secretary positions include leaders such as Vinay Kumar, Sanjeev Maitra, Indrajit Banerjee, Manoj Shaw, Tanmoy Deb, Sanjeev Ghosh, Girdhari Saha and Vijay Sagar Mishra.
Representation from various blocks and towns has been ensured in the Secretary positions to maintain organizational balance.
Several senior leaders, including MP Kalyan Banerjee, MLAs Dr. Sudipto Roy, Tapan Dasgupta, Becharam Manna, and Manoranjan Bepari, have been included as 'Special Invitees' in the district committee. Leaders from youth, minority, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe organizations, and the Jai Hind Vahini have also been given representation.
The list clearly specifies the block, town, and ward levels. A large number of leaders from areas such as Dankuni, Serampore, Uttarpara, Rishra, Chandannagar, Pandua, Mogra, Dhaniakhali, and Singur have been given positions in the committee.
Political analysts believe that the Trinamool Congress has made this major change in the organization keeping in mind the upcoming municipal elections and the state assembly elections. Through the new district committee, the party leadership has given a clear indication that special attention will be paid to grassroots-level monitoring, coordination, and organizational strengthening.
