Udhampur Police Attach ₹1.50 Crore Worth Properties of Bovine Smugglers in 2025

Udhampur, 30 December (H.S.): During the year 2025, Udhampur Police, under Section 107 BNSS, attached ₹1.50 crore worth properties belonging to habitual bovine smugglers in 11 cases across Police Stations Chenani, Rehambal, Udhampur and Majalta.

The attached properties include 11 vehicles (Tata pick-ups and trucks) all used in repeated bovine smuggling. Investigations revealed these assets were acquired from proceeds of crime and after court orders, they were formally attached, striking a strong blow at the financial network of the smuggling nexus.

Notably, the highest-value single property attached in 2025 was a truck worth ₹40 lakh, belonging to *Rafqat Ali S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Dabriah, Tehsil & District Udhampur* seized under Section 107(5) BNSS by Police Station Majalta. This vehicle alone represents a significant milestone in dismantling the smuggling network.

Udhampur Police reiterates its commitment to zero tolerance against bovine smuggling and warns that offenders will face strict legal action and seizure of assets.
