
Mumbai, 30 Dec (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party will
contest on 137 seats while Shiv Sena on 90 seats. Out of the total 277 seats in
Mumbai Municipal Corporation, both the parties will allot seats for their
supporting parties from their share of seats. The decision was taken during a
meeting at Deputy Chief Minister Eh Shinde’s official residence on Monday late
evening. BJP Mumbai Unit President Amit Satam and Shiv Sena leader Rahul
Shewale revealed the seat sharing formula on Tuesday at a press conference.
Both expressed confidence that they will win the elections.
Satam said that while implementing developmental
works, maintaining security of Mumbai is important. The forces trying to change
the colour of Mumbai will have to be defeated. Shewale said that the seat
sharing discussion with due respect to the parties and their leaders. All the
partners of the Mahayuti will be accommodated in the seat sharing formula.
Tuesday is the last day for fling nomination papers.
