
Bhubaneswar, 30 December (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of the English New Year 2026. According to an official communication from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), January 1, 2026, will be observed as a normal working day, and all state government offices, including the CMO, will function as usual.
The Chief Minister has requested citizens not to visit him or officials of the Chief Minister’s Office in person to convey New Year greetings, as the day remains a regular working day.
The official statement further clarified that routine administrative work will continue in all state government offices and institutions on New Year’s Day. Government office premises have been advised not to be used as venues for New Year celebrations in any form. Except for personal courtesy exchanges, all kinds of celebrations, gatherings, feasts, parties, or social events are strictly prohibited within the premises of state government offices.
The state government has directed all heads of offices and institutions to ensure strict compliance with these instructions.
