Chennai, 16 December (H.S.) : A 24-year-old migrant woman from Assam was allegedly gang-raped by three men from the same state in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district, while her husband was assaulted.

The incident occurred after the couple decided to quit their jobs at a local brick manufacturing unit. The woman and her husband had been brought from Assam to the unit by the main accused.

According to the police complaint:When the main accused learned of the couple's decision to leave, he allegedly brought two other men in an auto to prevent them from exiting the area, also raising a payment-related issue.

The woman was then allegedly taken in the auto to a secluded location where she was gang-raped, while her husband was assaulted. A case has been registered against the three accused men in connection with the incident.
