13 Dec (HS): Nominations for the Bharatiya Janata Party's state president in
Uttar Pradesh will be held on Saturday. The state president will be announced
on Sunday. On Friday, the BJP released a list of 446 members for the election.
These include five MPs, 26 MLAs, eight Legislative Council members, provincial
council members, and district presidents, totaling 425.
BJP
National General Secretary and Central Election Observer Vinod Tawde will
arrive in Lucknow on Sunday. Nomination papers for the BJP State President will
be filed in his presence at the state office on Saturday from 1 to 2 pm.
Nomination papers can be withdrawn from 4 to 5 pm.
Union
Minister Piyush Goyal, the Central Election Officer for the state president,
will complete the election process on December 14 and conduct the election.
Prior to this, BJP's National Organization Minister BL Santosh and State
General Secretary Organization Dharampal held several rounds of meetings with
senior party leaders in Lucknow on Friday. BL Santosh also met Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath late last night.
