New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra attended the 'Shankhnad Mahotsav' at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday, where an exhibition showcased weapons of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and other Hindu kings.Mishra commended the organizers, Serv Culture Serv Bharat Foundation and Sanatan Sanstha, for highlighting India's martial heritage, particularly Maratha weaponry from Shivaji's era used to defeat Mughals and British forces.

He emphasized the event's timing with Vande Mataram's 150th anniversary, underscoring India's vast traditions in knowledge and warfare. The three-day display features Shivaji-era arms, Sanatan culture artifacts, and spiritual items linked to nationhood and art.

Mishra asserted that Mughals held limited real power in Delhi, often exaggerated, requiring Maratha permission even to leave the Red Fort. He noted British conquest came from Marathas, not Mughals, framing Delhi's history as one of valor, courage, and sacrifice shaped by Jats, Gujars, Tyagis, Tomars, Chauhans, Marathas, and Sikhs—vowing government commitment to illuminate this narrative.
