Chennai, 13 December (H.S.) : Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has confidently asserted that Tamil Nadu is poised to become the number one State in India across all sectors by 2031, marking the completion of what he terms Dravidian Model 2.0.
In a statement shared on social media, the Chief Minister highlighted the State's strong economic trajectory over the last three years, citing data released by the Reserve Bank of India. Stalin pointed out that Tamil Nadu has topped the nation in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth with a remarkable 16% rate.
He emphasized the significance of this achievement given that Tamil Nadu is neither the largest in area nor population, and operates without extensive support from the Union government.
The CM noted that between the financial years 2021 and 2025, the State's economy has expanded by approximately ₹10.5 lakh crore, bringing the total economic value to ₹31.19 lakh crore.
This growth rate, he added, has surpassed that of other major developed states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat, with the State also maintaining strong per capita income growth.
Reiterating his faith in his government's development philosophy, Stalin stated that the success confirms the effectiveness of the Dravidian model.
He concluded that the goal is to ensure that by 2031, Tamil Nadu will not lag behind any other State but will instead establish the national benchmark for overall development.
