Chennai, 12 December (H.S.) : The Little Theatre is ushering in the festive season with its 29th annual Christmas Pantomime, titled How To Sway Your Dragon. The show transports audiences to the magical Viking village of Burp, ruled by Lord Odin, where warriors, magic, and a unique dancing dragon set the scene for a whimsical tale.

The plot centers on a crisis that erupts when the formidable Ice King and his band of musical demons invade and seize control, effectively silencing the world's source of happiness. An unexpected hero, a cheerful and optimistic character named Teacup, steps forward to join three of Odin's valiant warriors in a quest to restore joy.

The production, directed by artistic director KK, promises foot-tapping music, comic mayhem, and breathtaking action, staying true to the pantomime tradition where good inevitably triumphs over evil.

According to Rohini Rau, CEO of The Little Theatre, pantomime is a U.K.-rooted tradition defined by a formula featuring a villain, a princess, and talking animals, always concluding with a happy ending.

Rau noted that showcasing the dragon concept, complete with special effects and live music, presented a creative challenge. The show is highly interactive, engaging the audience as part of the performance.

The pantomime will run from December 12 to 18 at the Museum Theatre, Egmore, with all funds raised from the performances being directed toward healthcare initiatives.
