Jaipur, 11 December (HS): Prakash alias Badal, arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was produced before a local court on Thursday after the end of his 10-day police remand. The court has sent him back into custody for further interrogation.
During questioning, Prakash revealed that he travelled to nearly 25 locations across Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat to gather sensitive information, click photographs and record videos. Rajasthan’s CID (Intelligence) found that around 19 individuals regularly transferred money to his bank accounts, and investigators are now attempting to trace these people.
CID (Intelligence) Special Public Prosecutor Sudesh Kumar Satwan said the accused had earlier claimed he lost his mobile phone, but police recovered the device, which contained highly sensitive photos and videos. The phone has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for detailed analysis. Details of multiple SIM cards reportedly sent by Prakash to his Pakistani handlers have also surfaced, and efforts are underway to obtain their call detail records (CDRs).
Satwan added that preliminary findings indicate the individuals transferring money to Prakash are Pakistani agents or sub-agents. He also said the accused is suspected to have links to drug trafficking, with several cases already registered against him. The investigation is ongoing.
