Chandigarh, 09 August (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its outreach across Punjab over issues such as drugs, unemployment, law and order and the farm crisis, state BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon said on Sunday.

Dhillon said the party was organising contact programmes at village, city and booth levels to take the Centre’s welfare schemes and policies directly to people across the state.

Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party government, he alleged that Punjab was facing serious challenges including drug abuse, deteriorating law and order and migration of youth abroad, but the ruling party had failed to provide concrete solutions. He said the BJP was committed to making Punjab safe, prosperous and progressive.

Dhillon also said the party was conducting a “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign across Punjab from August 9 to 14 ahead of Independence Day. Tiranga Yatras would be organised in districts, cities and villages to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes.

He said that under the “Samarasta Sankalp Abhiyan” linked to the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji, a Kalash Yatra carrying sacred soil from the Guru’s birthplace was reaching villages across Punjab, particularly in the Doaba region.

Dhillon further said a meeting was held in Delhi with BJP national president Nitin Nabin and Punjab in-charge Satish Poonia to discuss organisational strengthening and strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections.

He said the meeting focused on agriculture, youth, border security and urban development, while stronger teams would be formed at district, mandal and village levels in the coming days.
