Beef Trafficking Allegedly Conducted Under the Label of Buffalo Meat in Assam
Guwahati, 10 August (HS): A large-scale alleged trade of beef under the label of buffalo meat has come to light in Assam, with Hathigaon Police apprehending a person identified as Ruhul Amin and recovering a substantial quantity of suspected beef.

Guwahati, 10 August (HS): A large-scale alleged trade of beef under the label of buffalo meat has come to light in Assam, with Hathigaon Police apprehending a person identified as Ruhul Amin and recovering a substantial quantity of suspected beef.

According to police, the meat was allegedly transported to Assam by rail from neighbouring states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The consignments reportedly arrived at Paltan Bazar Railway Station before being taken to a warehouse located at Anupam Path in the Sijubari area.

Police alleged that the warehouse was being operated by Ruhul Amin and that meat was subsequently supplied to several hotels across Guwahati under his direction.

The suspected meat was reportedly transported through MLV Courier Service under the name of buffalo/beef meat. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the source, supply network and intended recipients of the seized consignment.---------
