artisans will increase employment and entrepreneurship

Lucknow, August 04 (HS): Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously striving

to elevate the state's traditional industries, handloom, khadi and textile

sectors to new heights. In this regard, the state government has made a special

provision of Rs 14,002.79 lakh (Rs 140.0279 crore) in the supplementary budget

for strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises, khadi and village

industries, and handloom and textile sectors.

This amount will be used for the development of textile

parks in the state, expansion of handloom and weaver incentive schemes, capital

construction works of Khadi and Village Industries Board and strengthening of

industrial infrastructure. In the approved amount, provision has been made for

Rs 12,500 lakh i.e. Rs 125 crore under capital head and Rs 1,502.79 lakh i.e.

Rs 15.0279 crore under revenue head.

Khadi and Village Industries, Silk Industry, Handloom and Textiles, Rakesh

Sachan, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the

state government is committed to empowering the state's weavers, artisans,

entrepreneurs, and those involved in traditional industries. He said that this

funding approved in the supplementary budget will further strengthen the

state's industrial infrastructure. This will promote investment in the textile

sector, develop modern facilities, and improve the economic condition of

weavers and Khadi artisans.
