Tragic Bhind accident: UP CM Yogi announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia

Lucknow, 18 Aug (HS): Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of

Uttar Pradesh, has taken note of the fatal road accident in Bhind, Madhya

Pradesh, in which numerous Lakhimpur labourers were killed. He offered his sympathies

to the grieving families and asked officials to ensure that the remains were

transferred to their families. He also directed authorities to collaborate with

the Madhya Pradesh administration to ensure adequate care for the injured. The

Chief Minister offered financial help of Rs. 2 lakh to the relatives of the

deceased workers and hoped for the injured to recover soon.

In a post on X, he remarked, “The loss of lives in a tragic

accident in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, is extremely heartbreaking and distressing

to the soul. My condolences are with the bereaved families. Officials have been

directed to coordinate with the Madhya Pradesh government to ensure that the

mortal remains of the citizens of U.P. who lost their lives in the accident are

transported to their home districts and handed over to their families, and to

provide proper medical treatment to the injured. Instructions have been issued

to provide financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh each to the family of every

deceased from Uttar Pradesh in this accident.”
