attended the presentation ceremony to increase the dividend of fair price sellers
Prayagraj, 17 Aug (HS): A function was organised on Monday
in the Zila Panchayat auditorium on the occasion of the gift of increase in the
profit margin of more than 78 thousand fair price sellers of the state and the
launch of e-POS based fair price seller feedback system under single stage door
step delivery. In which Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh
Government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi was present as the chief guest. The launch
done by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow was telecast live. This new
system will further strengthen transparency in the remuneration of fair price
sellers, ease in the process and effectiveness in the public distribution
system.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Nandi said that this
decision of the state's double-engine government, led by Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, is an important step towards strengthening the interests of fair
price sellers and making the public distribution system more effective and
streamlined. The increase in fair price sellers' dividend from Rs. 90 to Rs. 125
per quintal will benefit more than 78,000 fair price sellers in the state.
Strengthening public welfare systems is a priority for the
BJP government. While ensuring easy and transparent access to food grains for
poor and needy families, special attention is also being paid to the interests
of fair price vendors. This new system will provide financial support to ration
dealers and help further strengthen the public distribution system.
Furthermore, the e-POS-based fair price vendor feedback system within single-stage
doorstep delivery will promote transparency, accountability, and better
coordination in the ration system.
Minister Nandi, while praising the e-PoS based transparent
system of the public distribution system, said that fair price sellers will get
permission to sell 39 standard items of daily use, which will increase their
income. He said that it has been announced to develop fair price shops as
common service centers and to make the facility of depositing electricity bills
functional. As a result of dividend increase in Prayagraj district, there is a
budgetary provision of about Rs. 9 crore 59 lakh annually for 2157 fair price
sellers. On this occasion, symbolic cheques were given to 06 fair price sellers
with a view to distributing additional dividend.
In order to develop fair price shops as profitable and
public nutrition centres, along with distribution of food grains, permission
has been given for sale of 39 standard items of daily use, along with
developing fair price shops as common service centres and making the facility
of depositing electricity bills operational, it has been announced to develop
them as fair price shops. For the convenience of the general public, various
new online facilities like ration card division, unit cancellation, unit
transfer, ration card transfer and surrender etc. have been launched.
On this occasion, former minister and MLA from Prayagraj
City West Assembly constituency, Siddharthnath Singh, Mayor Umesh Chandra
Ganesh Kesarwani, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Development
Officer Harshika Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Civil Supply) Vijay
Sharma, SDM Ankit Kumar Verma, District Supply Officer Sunil Kumar Singh, ARO
Sanjay Kumar, ARO Santosh Kumar, ARO Sanjay Yadav, ARO Arun Verma, General
