
Chandrapur, 13 Aug (HS): Many big industries are eager to come to Chandrapur
due to availability of electricity, water and other basic amenities in sufficient
quantity, Industries Minister Uday Samant said. The state government is
extending 100 per cent encouragement for establishing units in Gadchiroli, and
80 per cent in Chandrapur.
Samant convened a meeting at the
Chandrapur District Collector’s office on Wednesday, to review situation of
industries in Chandrapur. He announced that Rs 65 crore have been sanctioned for
improving basic facilities in Chandrapur and Rs 360 have been approved for
critical infrastructure – Rs 180 crore by State Government and Rs 90 crore by
MIDC and Rs 90 crore from mineral development funds.
As per the state Government’s policy 20
per cent of land plots are reserved for Minor, Small and Medium entrepreneurs
(MSME). The 18 plots taken back from the industries which were not functioning,
will be made available for MSME.
