Kolkata, 13 August (H.S.) : With weather conditions expected to deteriorate across South Bengal, a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for several districts. According to the weather advisory, parts of South Bengal may experience intense rainfall accompanied by adverse weather conditions.

A red warning has been issued for Bankura and Paschim Medinipur districts, where rainfall of up to 200 mm is expected. Authorities have been advised to remain alert in view of the possibility of waterlogging and disruption to normal life.

Heavy rainfall has also been forecast for Purulia, East Medinipur, Jhargram, East Burdwan, West Burdwan and Hooghly districts. The heavy downpour could affect normal life and cause difficulties in low-lying areas.

According to the forecast, all districts of South Bengal are likely to receive rainfall until Saturday. Heavy rainfall is also expected in parts of North Bengal.

In view of the adverse weather conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until August 15. The administration has urged fishermen to exercise extreme caution and strictly follow the weather warning.

The authorities are closely monitoring the situation, particularly in areas likely to receive very heavy rainfall, and have advised residents to remain alert to further weather updates.
