Oil Tanker Catches Fire After Head-On Collision With LPG Vehicle on NH-37 in Bokakhat
Golaghat (Assam), 13 August (HS): An oil tanker carrying petroleum products was completely gutted in a fire following a head-on collision with a vehicle carrying LPG cylinders near Rajabari in Bokakhat on National Highway-37 late Wednesday night.

Golaghat (Assam), 13 August (HS): An oil tanker carrying petroleum products was completely gutted in a fire following a head-on collision with a vehicle carrying LPG cylinders near Rajabari in Bokakhat on National Highway-37 late Wednesday night.

According to reports, the tanker was travelling from Numaligarh Refinery when it collided with the LPG-carrying vehicle. The impact triggered a fire in the oil tanker, which was completely destroyed. The LPG vehicle also sustained partial damage.

Police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot after receiving information from local residents and brought the blaze under control.

The accident severely disrupted traffic on NH-37, leaving vehicles travelling between Upper and Lower Assam stranded for a considerable time.

No official information about casualties has been reported so far. The exact cause of the collision is yet to be ascertained.----------
