Bhubaneswar, 13 August (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has dismissed Dr Pati Paban Barik, former Medical Officer of Gurundia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sundargarh district, from government service over corruption charges.

Dr Barik is currently serving as a Medical Officer at Gurandi CHC in Gajapati district. He was earlier posted at Gurundia CHC in Sundargarh, where he was found guilty in connection with allegations of corruption.

Following the findings against him, the Chief Minister ordered his dismissal from government service, reaffirming the state government's stated policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.

The Chief Minister has directed the administration to maintain a strict approach against corruption at all levels of governance.

The government has reiterated that officials found involved in corrupt practices will face stringent action, irrespective of their position or designation.

The action against Dr Barik is being viewed as part of the state government's continued efforts to strengthen accountability and ensure transparency in public administration.
