Guwahati, 09 July (HS): Guwahati Police has arrested three more persons from North Lakhimpur in connection with an ongoing investigation into a Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) circulation racket.

The arrests were made in connection with Dispur Police Station Case No. 467/2026, registered under Sections 178, 179, 180 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The operation is part of the police's continued crackdown on counterfeit currency networks operating in the state.

The arrested accused have been identified as Md. Hejbur Rahman (37) of Mohghuli, Md. Mizanur Rahman alias Mizu (36) of No. 2 Islampur under Bihpuria Police Station, and Md. Ekramul Islam (26) of Mohghuli, all from North Lakhimpur district.

Police said the arrests mark another breakthrough in the case and further investigation is underway to trace the remaining members of the counterfeit currency syndicate and uncover its wider network.---------
