
Religious and Sikh organizations have been
invited to discuss the issue and decide the next course of action
Chandigarh, 04 July (H.S.): The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee
(SGPC) has announced that it will organise a Panthic gathering on July 5 at
Manji Sahib, located inside the Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar, over the
alleged controversial video of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
SGPC Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan said on
Saturday that the programme will begin at 11 am. According to the SGPC,
representatives from various religious and Panthic organisations are expected
to participate in the gathering. These include Taksals, Nihang Singh
organisations, Kar Sewa institutions, Nirmala Sampradaya, Singh Sabhas and other.
Kulwant Singh Mannan said there is deep resentment in
the Sikh community over the recently surfaced alleged controversial video
involving Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said the Panthic gathering has been
called to discuss the matter and decide the future course of action.
The SGPC also said that all arrangements for the
programme have been completed. Chhabeels will be set up at various places for
the convenience of the Sangat, three stages have been prepared and senior
officials have been assigned duties to ensure that devotees do not face any
inconvenience.
The SGPC has appealed to all Gurdwara management committees, religious
institutions, Singh Sabhas and Sikh Sangat to participate in large numbers. The
organisation said the issue is not related to any one individual alone, but
concerns religion and the Panth.
