Solapur, 29 July (HS): The Star Air Company has announced

restoration of Solapur-Mumbai air services from August 2. The services were withdrawn from June 28. The

flight service was restored after warning by the State Government. Immediately after

the announcement 45 tickets were booked from Solapur and 20 tickets were booked

from Mumbai to Solapur flight.

The air service was withdrawn despite encouraging

response by the travellers, citing lack of night landing facilities and less

visibility at the Solapur Airport. Guarding Minister Jaykumar Gore informed

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that the reasons quoted by the Star Air are

misleading as the flights operate during day time. Fadnavis warned the company

of action, following which Star Air and Fly 91 both decided to restore services

from August 2.

The assured Solapur-Goa flight services have not been

started as yet. The Fly 91 Company assured it to be started after August 30.
