
Latur, 29 July (HS): Chairman of Maharashtra State
Agricultural Produce Price Commission and former MLC Pasha Patel has called
campaign against Ethanol blended petrol misleading. Most of the new vehicles
are manufactured for the fuel. In the future use of flex-fuel will increase and
the issue of less mileage can be sorted out by the policy makers. The E20 fuel does not adversely affet the vehicles, he claimed.
Patel said the awareness about use of E20 fuel will
have be created. The old vehicle owners will have to be suggested necessary
technical changes by the manufacturers.
Patel also emphasised encouraging use of sugarcane
waste, maze and other food grains for Ethanol production, remaining after
ensuring food security.
Dependence on fossil fuel will have to be reduced
for protection of environment and human being, he said and added that people
should ignore misleading projection relating to E20 fuel and adopt to clean
energy options.
