Shivsagar (Assam), 29 July (HS): In a touching moment amid the ongoing flood disaster in Assam, a woman safely delivered a baby at a relief camp operating from the tea factory premises of Bamunpukhuri Tea Estate in Nazira, Sivasagar district.

The birth took place as severe flooding continues to disrupt normal life across the region, forcing hundreds of families to seek refuge in temporary shelters. Health workers and relief camp authorities ensured the safe delivery of the child, and both the mother and the newborn are reported to be in stable condition.

The arrival of the baby has lifted the spirits of fellow camp inmates, offering a symbol of hope and resilience at a time when flood-hit communities are struggling to rebuild their lives. Bamunpukhuri Tea Estate remains one of the worst-affected areas in Nazira, with widespread inundation forcing residents to leave their homes and move to relief camps.-----------
