Nagpur, 27 July

(HS): Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that a 100 acre land will be

made available for the proposed Skill Development University in Nagpur. The

land will be made available in next month, he added, while inaugurating Nagpur

Skill Development Centre in Pardi area of Nagpur. Union Minister Niti GHadkari

and Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule were present.

Nagpur Sill,

Centre was built under the Smart City Mission by Nagpur Municipal Corporation

through the joint efforts with AID, Tata Strive and Vidartbha Global

Foundation.

Fadnavis

expressed hope the today’s competitive world, the Centre will provide opportunity

for youth in the Vidarbha region to upgrade their skills required for the

industry.

Gadkari said

that the skill will significantly benefit economically weaker section in acquiring

skills required for making them employable, NMC should target of helping at

least 5,000 youth seco=ure jobs every year through the Centre. Efforts will be

made secure funds from the Union Government for the Centre.

The proposal for

establishing the Skill Development University and making available 100 acres of

land has already been submitted to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

An MoU has

already been signed between the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP),

and the Association of Industrial Development (AID) to promote knowledge

sharing a skill development.
