
Sivasagar (Assam), 27 July (HS): A six-member Central assessment team led by M. Ramachandrudu, Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, is on a visit to flood-affected areas of Upper Assam to assess the extent of damage caused by the recent floods.
The team held a review meeting with district officials at the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday to discuss the flood situation, relief measures and the rehabilitation process.
On Sunday, the Central observers visited the worst-hit areas of Mahmora and Sonari in Charaideo district to assess the ground situation and interact with the local administration.
After concluding their visit to Sivasagar, the team is also scheduled to inspect flood-affected areas in Jorhat and Golaghat districts as part of its assessment tour.-----------
