Mumbai, 24 July (HS): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray demanded

action against the officer who ordered cane charge against the protesting

students at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. He extended support to the agitators. Action

against teachers who beat students are taken, why not against officer ordering

cane charge, he asked.

The

available videos indicate that police also targeted those who were mere

spectators, besides the protesters. The NEET paper leakage affected many

students and the irate students are staging protest. Using force against them

is not justifiable.

The

Chief Justice of India called students ‘cockroach’ and shockingly the court has

no time to examine the videos related to use of force against the protesting

students. The youth has lost hopes of justice from the government and had to

come to the streets. Thackeray has appealed to the MPs to assert discussion on

the issue in the Parliament.
