
Amravati, 24 July (HS): In a surprise move a demand
for permanent closure of public toilet was made at Khadakpura Square in
Umarkhed in Yavatmal district. Women and traders in the region submitted a
letter to the Chief Administrative Officer and Public Health Department to
close the public toilet permanently.
Umarkhed Municipal Council erected a commercial complex
at Khadakpura Square having public toilet. Stinking toilet is posing problems
for the people due to negligence by the municipal authorities in keeping it
clean. As the place is dirty people have started urinating outside the toilet
adding to the problem.
The shop owners in the complex and residents of the
area demanded closure of the toilet.
