Prayagraj, 24 July (HS): Patients from Prayagraj and nearby districts
suffering from kidney-related ailments will now have access to super-specialty
consultation for kidney transplantation in their own city. Dr. Anurag Singh
Kidney Care Centre, Prayagraj, in collaboration with Apollo Hospital, Lucknow,
has launched a dedicated Kidney Transplant Outpatient Department (OPD). The OPD
was inaugurated on Friday, July 24, 2026, by Dr. Anurag Singh and Dr. Mayank
Mohan Agrawal from Apollo Hospital, Lucknow.
The OPD will operate from July 24
onwards on the fourth Friday of every month, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Dr.
Anurag Singh Kidney Care Centre, Prayagraj. Dr. Mayank Mohan Agrawal,
Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Specialist from Apollomedics
Hospital, Lucknow, will provide expert consultations to patients.
Through this OPD, patients will
receive specialist consultation for kidney transplantation, kidney failure,
kidney cancer, prostate and bladder disorders, recurrent urinary tract
infections (UTIs), urinary obstruction, kidney stones, and other complex
urological conditions.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr.
Anurag Singh said, The number of patients suffering from kidney failure,
requiring dialysis, and facing urological disorders in Prayagraj and
surrounding regions is steadily increasing. Many of these patients have to
travel to other cities for expert kidney transplant and urology consultations.
This regular OPD, being launched in collaboration with Apollo Hospital,
Lucknow, will make specialist services much more accessible. Patients will
receive comprehensive guidance regarding kidney transplant eligibility,
pre-transplant investigations, donor evaluation, treatment planning, and
post-transplant care. We believe this collaboration will significantly
strengthen kidney care and treatment services in Prayagraj.
On the occasion of the launch, Dr.
Mayank Mohan Agrawal said,Kidney disease often does not present clear
symptoms in its early stages, and many patients reach specialists only after
the disease has progressed to an advanced stage. Timely diagnosis, appropriate
treatment, and regular follow-up can help slow the progression of kidney
failure. For patients requiring kidney transplantation, early evaluation, donor
assessment, and a scientifically planned treatment approach are extremely
important. We have recently introduced robotic kidney transplantation at Apollo
Hospital, Lucknow, making the procedure even safer than before. In addition,
donor surgeries are performed using minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques,
resulting in reduced blood loss and faster recovery, allowing donors to be
discharged from the hospital sooner. This OPD in Prayagraj will enable patients
to receive expert advice and a clear treatment pathway without leaving their
city.
He further added: Modern
technologies such as robotic surgery have made the treatment of kidney cancer,
prostate disorders, bladder diseases, and other urological conditions more
effective. Our goal is not only to treat diseases but also to ensure that
patients receive the right treatment at the right time and enjoy an improved
quality of life.
Dr. Mayank Somani, MD and CEO of
Apollomedics Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, said,Apollo Hospital,
Lucknow, is committed to extending advanced healthcare services beyond Lucknow
to other cities across Uttar Pradesh. The launch of the Kidney Transplant and
Urology OPD in Prayagraj is an important step in that direction. Through this
initiative, patients will have access to consultations from Apollo's
experienced specialists in their own city, while those requiring advanced
investigations, surgery, or kidney transplantation will receive seamless
guidance and referral for further treatment. Early diagnosis and timely
intervention are critical in managing kidney diseases. This partnership will
not only provide patients with timely specialist care but also promote greater
awareness about kidney health in Prayagraj and neighboring regions.
