New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned until 2 PM on Thursday amid continued disruptions over the NEET paper leak issue, with the government and the Opposition remaining divided over the terms of discussion.

In the Lok Sabha, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju reiterated the government’s willingness to hold a discussion on the NEET paper leak issue without any preconditions from the Opposition. His remarks came amid repeated sloganeering by Opposition MPs demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Rijiju said the government was ready for a detailed discussion on the issue and urged Opposition members to allow Parliament to function. He maintained that the matter concerning students should not be politicised and should be discussed in a constructive manner.

Lok Sabha Chairperson Dilip Saikia appealed to members to maintain the dignity and decorum of the House, urging them to allow the discussion to take place at the appropriate time without attaching any preconditions.

Meanwhile, proceedings in the Rajya Sabha were also disrupted due to protests over the NEET issue. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said the Opposition was ready for a discussion but reiterated the demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Kharge also sought a statement from the government regarding the NEET paper leak controversy and the deaths allegedly linked to the issue. Amid continued sloganeering and disruptions, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned until 2 PM.

The repeated adjournments in both Houses came as Parliament continued to witness a political standoff between the ruling alliance and Opposition parties over the handling of examination-related irregularities and student concerns.
