New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): Political confrontation intensified in Parliament on Thursday during the Monsoon Session over the NEET paper leak issue, with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs staging a protest against the Congress at Makar Dwar of the Parliament complex. The demonstration was held in response to the Congress protest near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence on July 21.

The BJP targeted the Congress and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, alleging that they were disrupting proceedings instead of fulfilling their responsibilities as the Opposition. BJP MP Sambit Patra accused the Congress of obstructing parliamentary functioning, claiming that the party wastes the time of the House by staging protests with banners and avoids issues that require serious discussion.

Sambit Patra said that over the past two to three days, BJP president Nitin Nabin and former national president JP Nadda had held discussions with students and Sonam Wangchuk. According to him, the discussions highlighted the need for serious deliberations on the paper leak issue and the introduction of stricter laws to prevent such incidents.

He alleged that the Congress was not interested in discussing the matter in Parliament and was instead using it for political purposes. Patra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to establish fast-track courts for cases related to paper leaks was a significant step towards ensuring speedy justice.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the NDA was fully committed to safeguarding the interests of students. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that nothing was more important than the welfare of students and assured that strict action would be taken against those found responsible.

He further said that the decision to set up fast-track courts was aimed at ensuring the swift resolution of cases related to examination irregularities and delivering justice without delay.
