
Special holidays approved on July 2, 3 and 4; Govt committed
to professional development of teachers
Lucknow, 02 July (HS): The Yogi government is fully
committed to the professional development of teachers and the provision of
quality education. In this regard, it has been decided to grant special leave
to serving teachers of the Basic Education Department appearing in the Uttar
Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test-2026 on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. In this
regard, Special Secretary of Basic Education, Awadhesh Kumar Tiwari, has issued
the necessary order.
State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent
Charge) Sandeep Singh stated that a large number of serving teachers from the
Basic Education Department will participate in the UPTET-2026 exam, being
conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission on July
2, 3, and 4, 2026. The state government has approved special leave to allow
teachers the opportunity to appear for the exam without any administrative or
operational constraints.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, the state government is taking several important steps to
continuously strengthen the knowledge, skills, and professional competence of
teachers. Examinations like UPTET provide teachers with the opportunity to
enhance their qualifications and make the education system more effective.
Therefore, the government has ensured that no teacher appearing for the exam
faces any leave-related difficulties.
While wishing all the teacher candidates for UPTET-2026,
Minister Sandeep Singh expressed confidence that only trained; qualified and
efficient teachers will lay a strong foundation for a developed Uttar Pradesh
and a developed India.
