Yogi government's big move: Bringing light of education to
every child
Lucknow, 02 July (HS): Under the leadership of Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has resolved to take
basic education to new heights. To translate this resolve into reality, the
second phase of the 'School Chalo Abhiyan' will be run in mission mode across
the state from July 1 to July 15, 2026, under the academic session 2026-27.
State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh
said that the Yogi government's top priority is to ensure that no child between
the ages of 6 and 14 remains out of school and that children between the ages
of 3 and 6 are connected to Balvatika and Anganwadi centers.
Sandeep Singh said that this is not just a campaign for
enrollment, but a great sacrifice to shape the future of every child in the
state. Public representatives, teachers, parents and every section of the
society will have to join it. In the first phase, the best 5 headmasters of
each district who have done excellent work will be honored on the stage, so
that other schools can also take inspiration. To take the campaign to every
home, hoardings will be put up at bus stands, railway stations, collectorate,
Vikas Bhawan, markets and highways. Inspiring wall writings will be done on the
walls of Panchayat Bhawan, Anganwadi Center, CHC and schools in the villages.
Cable TV, local channels and publicity vehicles will also be a part of the
campaign.
He said that on July 1st, schools were decorated
festively. Children were welcomed with roli-tika, and special dishes like
halwa-kheer was served in the mid-day meal. Teachers will conduct
door-to-door surveys to enroll all children between the ages of 6 and 14. With
the help of ASHA and Anganwadi workers, children between the ages of 3 and 6
will be enrolled in Balvatika. In coordination meetings chaired by the BEO,
lists of children who passed classes 5, 8, and 10 will be handed over to the
next schools, so that not a single child drops out during the transition.
In this regard, Director General of School Education and
State Project Director Monica Rani said that to make the campaign successful,
the Yogi government has approved a sum of Rs 163.60 lakh. Under this, a limit
of Rs 1 lakh has been issued to each district and Rs 10.000 to each block.
Detailed orders have been issued to all the District Basic Education Officers
of the state. It has been clarified in the order that a grand program will be
organized in each district under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate,
in which the Minister in charge, MP, MLA, MLC, District Panchayat President,
Village Head, SMC members, teachers and parents will participate. The program
