Bhubaneswar, 02 July (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah's scheduled two-day visit to Odisha, beginning July 3, has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions prevailing across the state.

The information was confirmed by Pradeep Purohit, who said the decision was taken in view of the persistent rainfall and deteriorating weather conditions.

During the proposed visit, the Union Home Minister was slated to attend several important official engagements as well as organisational programmes in the state. However, the continuing spell of inclement weather prompted the cancellation of the tour.

Pradeep Purohit further informed that the cancelled programmes will be rescheduled once weather conditions improve. Revised dates for the visit are expected to be announced at a later stage.
