
Mission organised 3-day employment fair across state from
July 13 to 15, with 830 companies participating
On 2nd day, July 14, record 8,912 youth employed,
with Prayagraj seeing highest number of 728 selections
Fortunes of youth changing under Yogi Govt, getting
employment and respect via their skills: Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal
Lucknow, 16 July (HS): Under the leadership of Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is continuously working with the
resolve to make the youth skilled and self-reliant. In this sequence, on the
occasion of World Youth Skills Day (July 15), a three-day statewide employment
fair was successfully organized from July 13 to 15 under the joint auspices of
the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM), DDU-GKY and State
Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
Youth from all 75 districts of the state were included in
this mega campaign. A total of 830 reputed companies from India and abroad
participated, through which a total of 10,283 eligible candidates were finally
selected for various posts. On this achievement, Minister of State (Independent
Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil
Dev Agarwal said that the picture of Uttar Pradesh has changed under the Yogi
government. Today, the youth of the state are getting employment and
self-employment through their skills. He said that under the vision of 'Skill
India' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 'Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh' of
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the resolve of 'Skill for all, work for all'
has been given new impetus.
Minister Agarwal said that in the last nine years, 2 million
youth have been trained and 1.25 million have been provided with employment.
Initiatives like a 7,000 crore CSR MoU with the Tata Group, the upgrading of
225 ITIs, futuristic courses like AI, robotics, drones, electric vehicles, and
Blue Dot software are connecting youth directly with companies.
The mega employment campaign was conducted in three phases. Phase
1 (July 13): On the first day of the campaign, job fairs were held in nine
districts across the state: Sambhal, Gonda, Sultanpur, Mau, Farrukhabad,
Auraiya, Unnao, Chandauli, and Deoria. 107 major companies participated, and a
total of 1,071 young people were given appointment letters. The first day saw
tremendous enthusiasm in Deoria, where a record 303 candidates were selected.
Second Phase (July 14): A massive campaign was launched on
July 14. Fairs were held simultaneously in 63 districts across the state. In
this single day, 689 major companies participated, and a record 8,912
candidates found jobs. Prayagraj topped the state in this phase, with 22
companies selecting 1,185 young people. Additionally, 674 youth found
employment in Varanasi and 317 in Gorakhpur.
Third Phase (July 15): On World Youth Skills Day, July 15,
job fairs were held in three districts, including Amethi, Pilibhit, and Etawah.
On the final day, 300 youth were selected with the participation of 34
companies, including 138 from Pilibhit.
Mission Director, Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission,
Pulkit Khare, said that the selection of 10,283 youth at the three-day fair, in
line with the commitment of Skills for All, Work for All, is a
significant achievement. Today, Uttar Pradesh's youth are technically skilled
and self-reliant. Our goal is to provide every skilled hand with the right
platform and direct employment.
